The Mumbai Local trains have always been a preferred mode of travel for all Mumbaikars. Its faster, safe and mostly efficient. No wonder even the gods prefer to travel in Mumbai locals.

Coming home from Churchgate late night last year, we got an empty train, well almost empty train. At Elphinstone, group of people got in. The last person of the group was with Lord Ganesh’s idol. Normally people get the idols from near their home but these people carried the idol from Elphinstone to Andheri, a good 8 stations away.

The idol a replica of the famous “Lalbaugcha Raja” was one of the limited 41 idols prepared by the idol makers. How lucky can you get?

The next 11 days, Mumbai will witness a festive look with lights and decoration all overs.

The Gods have come to Mumbai
