Ganeshotsav is one of the most important festival in a Maharahstrian house. Many Maharastrians bring Ganesh idols and pray for 1 and half, 3, 5, 7 or 11 days. After the defined days, the idol is immersed in water until next year

The above is the idol from my friend Sandeep’s house.
