143 – A Dutch Fort
For me a castle was always in fairy tales. We Indians always had forts especially when we had so many mountains in India. But Dutch don’t have mountains. They have miles and miles of flat land and it was a surprise that we were shown a castle by our Dutch client as a part of knowing Netherlands better.
The castle was between a small lake kind of water body and was complete with the retractable heavy door. Nestled in a small Dutch village, I don’t even remember which castle it was but I was just trying to learn the history of another country completly unknown to me and when I had the least knowledge of my own country’s history. I don’t even remember taking this photo. Its taken by someone else but nobody claims it now.
