I stayed in Amstelveen (pronounced as Amstelfeen) for 3 months before shifting to Amsterdam. Amstelveen, close to Schipol Airport is fairly a young town. Quiet and very close to Amsterdam, Amstelveen grows on you gradually. The silence sometimes can be deafening here.

My first memories of Netherlands starts with Amstelveen, including the first snow of my life. Saw this sign on the highway
