A wrong turn and our journey increased by two hours more. Driving from the Tehri dam to Uttarkashi, we missed a turn. On asking the locals, they advised us to go ahead and cross the bridge. Turning back would have been a better option as it would have saved us some time.

The locals told us to cross the bridge that joins two hills over the river below. We saw only one bridge on the road. On first glance, it looked quite small, even dangerous. We asked the Police near by

“Kuch nahi ji! 401 (a small truck made by Tata) bhi cross kar deta hai” (Don’t worry! A Tata 401 also crosses it easily) He assured us.

A narrow road, a cable bridge and a fall hundred of feet down in the valley, the experience was worth it
