Amsterdam gets its name from the river Amstel which terminates at the city center. From here divided into small canals, it eventually joins into River IJ which divides the North and South Amsterdam. A boat is the fastest way of crossing over to North Amsterdam.

Amsterdam like any other city looks beautiful in the night with lights sparkling in the city. Devoid of any big sky scrappers, this is Amsterdam seen from the boat ride on the IJ.
