The New Palace of Kolhapur constructed in 1877-84 is the official residence of Shreemant Shahu Maharaj. It also houses a small zoo and a ground lake.

On the lake is a tree which houses many different kind of bird. Even with my zoom lens, I could not get a good closeup.
