The Indian sparrow or Passer Domesticus is a very common bird in the cities like the crow and the pigeon. During my childhood, my mom would feed us using the simple term like “this one for chiutai” Chiutai is what sparrow is lovingly called in many marathi households. However sparrow population has dwindled a lot over the years.

And still an occasional one visits us when mom keeps food grains on the balcony. This was clicked when it sat on window grill
