Vasai Fort or Bassien Fort is a old fort spread over 100 acres of land built by the Portugese during the colonial days.

Now in ruins and under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), it is not cared for and gaining the status of ruins that it will not be worth caring for.

We found people from groups like “Kille Vasai Mohim” who put time, efforts and money to maintain the fort.

ASI is turning out to be another government agency which does not perform its duties.

Sad state of affairs!!
