Avantika is a regular reader and a blogger herself. The last time during 200th post she was a little late and hence this time I contacted her for a guest photo
===========================
Glass bangles in every colour are piled high on carts in the Ghanta Ghar area of Jodhpur. And even with bright reds and greens and yellows and pinks, all I could see was my favorite blue!
In the heart of Jodhpur stands the Ghanta Ghar (Clock tower), a popular tourist attraction. Tourists are drawn not only by the majesty of the clock tower and the by-lanes of the old city, but also by the bustling, busy, and bursting-at-its seams market that has mushroomed there. You can get everything from fresh seasonal vegetables and fruits, local delicacies that have you licking your fingers, cheap souvenirs and gifts to traditional imitation jewelry. This market, like the rest of Rajasthan, is characterized by its sounds and smells, vibrancy and bright colours and some excellent photo-ops. Like the one above.
In one corner of the market I found something that pleased the girl in me as well as the photographer.Piled high on carts (that are usually associated with vegetable vendors) were glass bangles in every colour imaginable. Glimmering and shining in the bright sun, I couldn’t help but get attracted to these feminine adornments (especially as I spotted my favorite blue colour in the large pile). On asking the chap selling them if I could take a photograph of his delicate wares, all he did was grin and stand aside with an “Of course madam. Send photo to me also please.”
